Read this page to understand how SunWise Lease works and what we can (and can’t) promise. We’re a free matching service—not a solar installer, lessor, or financial advisor.

We’re a free matching service (not an installer or contract party)

SunWise Lease helps US homeowners find and connect with vetted local solar providers. We do not install solar systems, do not act as a solar lessor, and we do not offer or manage solar leases, PPAs, or solar loans.

Any solar offering you receive will be from the solar provider (or lender/financing partner, if applicable). That provider is responsible for the contract terms, pricing, and system details.

We can explain general options—like leases, PPAs, and solar loans—but we do not provide financial advice and we cannot tell you what you should buy or finance.

No savings guarantees

Solar savings vary a lot. Your results can depend on your roof and electric usage, your utility rates, your state rules and incentives, the system size, equipment quality, contract terms, and how your utility bills change over time.

We do not guarantee savings, payback timelines, performance, or returns. Some plans have payment “escalators” (payment increases over time), which can change the total cost.

Before you decide, ask each provider to show the exact numbers in writing (estimated production, proposed pricing, payment schedule, escalator terms if any, fees, and what’s included).

Providers control the details of quotes and contracts

Any offer you receive—whether it’s a lease, PPA, or loan—comes with contract terms set by the provider. Examples of terms that can affect overall cost include:

  • The contract length and renewal options
  • Payment amounts and whether they increase (escalators)
  • Ownership of equipment and who claims federal tax benefits
  • Maintenance responsibilities and warranty coverage
  • Early termination terms and transfer options

Please read the full contract and any disclosures carefully. If something is unclear, ask the provider to explain it in plain language. Don’t sign on the spot.

How we collect information and protect privacy

If you use SunWise Lease, we may collect contact and home details so we can match you with appropriate, vetted solar providers. We do not ask for sensitive payment details like bank account numbers or credit-card numbers, and we do not request Social Security numbers.

For details on what we collect, why we collect it, and your choices, please see our Privacy Policy.

Terms, communications, and contact

By using SunWise Lease, you agree to our Terms of Service. These terms explain how the matching process works, what we do and don’t control, and other important legal information.

You may be contacted by SunWise Lease and/or solar providers about next steps. For questions or help, visit Contact Us.

Be careful with high-pressure sales

In-home and phone sales practices vary by state. Some homeowners may experience high-pressure offers or unclear pricing during door-to-door or unsolicited outreach.

To protect yourself:

  1. Get everything in writing.
  2. Compare at least 2–3 offers when possible.
  3. Ask for a full breakdown of costs and contract terms.
  4. Review cancellation and termination rules.

If you feel pressured, it’s okay to pause and get a second opinion.

In plain English

SunWise Lease is a free matching service—not a solar installer or financial advisor—and we can’t guarantee savings; compare offers, read the full contract, and confirm every number in writing.

Questions

Common questions

Does SunWise Lease install solar or sign leases for me?
No. SunWise Lease is a free matching service. Solar installation, system ownership, leases/PPAs, and financing terms are handled by the solar provider and/or lender—not by SunWise Lease.
Will SunWise Lease guarantee my electricity bill savings?
No. Savings and payment outcomes vary by home, utility rates, system size, contract terms, and state incentives. We don’t guarantee savings, payback, or performance.
Who receives the federal tax credit in a lease or PPA?
In many lease and PPA arrangements, the provider or the tax equity owner (not the homeowner) may claim the federal tax benefits, but the exact treatment depends on the contract structure. Check your contract disclosures or ask the provider for clarification.
What information does SunWise Lease ask for?
We collect contact and home details needed to match you with vetted providers. We do not ask for bank account numbers, credit-card numbers, or Social Security numbers. See our [Privacy Policy](/privacy/) for details.
What should I do before I sign a solar contract?
Read the full contract, confirm all numbers and dates in writing, and compare multiple offers if you can. Pay close attention to payment schedules, escalators, maintenance responsibilities, warranty terms, and early termination rules. Don’t sign on the spot.
