Terms of use
These Terms explain how you can use SunWise Lease, a free service that helps you connect with vetted solar providers. Please read them carefully, since solar offers, incentives, and contract terms vary by home, state, and utility.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By using SunWise Lease, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
SunWise Lease is a free matching service. We are not a solar installer, lessor, lender, broker, utility, or financial advisor. We do not make final decisions for you, and we do not guarantee savings, approval, or eligibility.
You are responsible for reading every offer, asking questions, and deciding whether any solar lease, PPA, or loan is right for you. We strongly encourage you to compare multiple offers and never sign on the spot.
2. What SunWise Lease does
SunWise Lease helps homeowners understand common ways to go solar and connects them with vetted local solar providers. We may collect basic home and contact details so providers can contact you with information.
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or credit card numbers through our matching form. If a provider asks for sensitive information, review why it is needed before sharing anything.
Any savings, monthly payment estimates, or system performance information are general examples only. Actual results can vary a lot based on your roof, usage, utility rates, system size, contract terms, and state rules.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate information when you use our site and forms. If your home details, contact information, or goals change, please update them so matches are more useful.
You are responsible for reviewing each provider’s full written offer, including the contract, payment terms, fees, escalators, warranty terms, maintenance responsibilities, and any end-of-term options.
Be careful with high-pressure sales tactics, including door-to-door or phone sales. Some states regulate these practices. If you feel rushed, it is okay to pause, ask for written materials, and get more than one quote before you decide.
4. Provider offers and third-party content
Providers are independent businesses, and their quotes, availability, product details, pricing, and service quality are their own responsibility. We do not control or guarantee their work.
We may provide links, educational content, or references to third-party information for convenience. That does not mean we endorse or verify everything they say. Always confirm important details directly with the provider and in the contract.
If a provider offers a lease or PPA, remember that the provider usually claims the federal tax credit, not the homeowner. If you are considering a purchase or solar loan, you may keep more long-term upside, but you may also need to pay more upfront.
5. Privacy, communications, and account safety
Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share your information. Please review it before sending us your details.
By submitting your contact information, you agree that we or a provider may contact you about solar options by phone, text, email, or other methods you choose, subject to applicable law and your communication preferences.
Please use your own information and keep it accurate. Do not use the site in a way that breaks the law, harms others, or tries to mislead providers.
6. Changes, limits, and contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date where appropriate. Your continued use of the site means you accept the updated Terms.
We provide the site and educational content on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We cannot promise that the site will always be available, error-free, or complete.
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us.
